About us
MISSION STATEMENT
Berlin Collective Action calls for the participants of Berlin nightlife and club culture to take accountability for their role in the gentrification of Berlin. To work together to create processes and projects of outreach to the communities that are most impacted by the increasingly rapid growth of the city.
Our goal is to filter funds and resources back into the communities that are most at risk due to the gentrification of the city. Berlin club culture is more than ever leaning towards a machine and culture of capitalism.
We ask for the participants in this culture to take responsibility and acknowledge that impact by taking action. Participants include clubs and event spaces, institutions that fund clubs and venues, collectives, party promoters and organisers, artists, dancers and party goers. We all participate, we all need to take accountability for the impact that our activities have on others in Berlin's nightlife ecosystem.
FUNDRAISING
Berlin Collective Action e.V. recognizes that club culture is a direct cause of gentrification. We created BCA as a harm reduction tool to offset this impact through fundraising for the city’s most vulnerable. Now more than ever, we’re asking you to join us in supporting these communities.
Now is a crucial time to address club culture’s influence on Berlin’s at-risk inhabitants. Tourism, rising property values, and heavier street policing are just a few byproducts of our nightlife economy. Since we started BCA in March 2020, we have seen firsthand the difference that direct financial support makes on the lives of those who are disproportionately affected by this culture.
For a monthly donation of your choice, you can become a member of Berlin Collective Action. Through your participation, you’ll be joining a community of like-minded people who value enjoying Berlin’s current club culture while reducing its harm. 100% of your donation goes directly to protecting our applicants who come from communities that are highly impacted by the rapid changes to the city.
We need a minimum of 15,000€ to open for applications. The amount given to each applicant fluctuates based on the number of applications we receive while open, and the urgency of care needed. For more information about how we redistribute these funds, please see our Transparency page.
If you have any questions about our work, or want further transparency into how we operate, please contact us.

BCA as a collective is a living and learning organism, with members contributing their work based on their capacity at any given moment. That also means we are always open for new people coming in and sharing the work, introducing new skillsets, and getting to know us and our operation!
